We aim to bring a theatrical inquiry into the Battle of Orgreave to the public and to the House of Commons.

Writer and Director Alice Bartlett (Hull Truck, West Yorkshire Playhouse) is working with miners and communities to create an honest and accurate account of the infamous 'Battle of Orgreave'.  We will be applying for a project grant for the tour of the play but need funding right now for the research and development stage, which will take the form of substantial interviews, transcriptions and collation of evidence.  This will cost around £6000 to make happen.  We are looking for sponsorship from businesses and donations from individuals to help us to realise that goal.

In the absence of an official independent inquiry into the events at Orgreave during the miners' strike, we the people are determined to make sure that a balanced account of what took place and the reasons behind it makes it to the public domain.

This work is in partnership with and with the blessing of the Orgreave Truth and Justice Campaign.
